Mutiple EPC

Hi

I produced a model to do an SBEM but now require EPC's for each unit within the building.

Can I just uncheck the 'include zone in thermal calculations' for the zones not applicable or do I need to do a model for each unit?

Thanks

Daylight Results

Hi

I have been doing a daylight analysis and copied the grid results over to a spread sheet to email to the client but I have noticed that the results are different from the displayed results in DB.

Anyone got any ideas why?

Thanks Andrew

I take it the newer version is the better format and the one produced with patch installed.

Should the patch always be installed??

U-values

Hi I prepared the attached BRUKL for a project. The U-value was set at 0.25 throughout, but on the last page of the BRUKL it gives the minimum as 0.12. I assume that this is SBEM making allowances for there being no edge losses at the point were min is. Can anyone confirm if this is correct. Thanks ...

Changing HVAC systems

Hi I have been working on the attached file and have noticed that if I change HVAC system then I loose details of local extract ventilation. IE, if I set HVAC Type 1 and turn on local extract ventilation and then later change HVAC to Type 2 the local extract ventilation turns off. Is this a bug??? R...

Design Illuminance

Hi

Is design illuminance relevant any more?

I have noticed that when I do lighting Designed the NCM Illuminance for Activity is set at Block level but doesn't change when activity is different at zone level.

DHW Storage

Hi I am working on a model with oil fired boilers serving heating and a central. I am getting an energy use of about 10kWh?m2 for the actual building and 2.76kWh/m2 for the notional building. Does SBEM assume that the notional building will have domestic hot water produced by point of use heaters? R...

Car-park

Hi I am working on a EPC for a supermarket. The main shop area is at first floor level and creates a car-park under it at ground floor level. The car-park is atrifically lit, so, to me, it needs to be considered as part of the EPC, however, it is open to the elements, ie, no heating. I was going to ...

Extract vent

Hi

I am working on a project with offices having supply and extract vent.

Is the extract classified as local extract vent? If not where do you input extract vent data?

Wood Pellet v Oil

Hi - I recently worked on a project were we used wood pellets and we TER of 10.3 and a BER 9.9. The client did not have enough money to go down the pellet route and we changed to an oil fired system TER of 29 and a BER 26.4 (using same efficiencies etc) This would suggest that using an oil fired sys...

Unheated spaces

Hi

Should unheated spaces be set as 'semi exterior unconditioned spaces' or should they have a standard activity with HVAC turned off?
