Re: .dsb files on Dropbox

Hi Ondrej,

The upcoming v5.2 release now supports files stored in Dropbox folders and other cloud storage folders.

One workaround in v5.0 is to turn off the Dropbox syncing while working on the model.

Re: Simulation with District Cooling component on Detailed HVAC

Hi Natalia,

I'm afraid that I don't have any examples. And yes you can consider the District cooling plant with a COP of 1.

Re: How to Simulate Ac split type unit that connect to grid but not district cooling?

Hello, Split unit is a zone unit and needs to be placed on each zone accordingly. You do not need to navigate 111 times to add this HVAC component. It can be easily defined in DesignBuilder interface in one go using the HVAC zone Group where you can assign the 111 zones. These zones will automatical...

No, with District Cooling (Detailed HVAC) its not possible to define the COP. Any energy consumption estimation needs to be post processed.

Re: Simulation with District Cooling component on Detailed HVAC

Hi Natalia, The upcoming V5.2 release will allow the Nominal Capacity to be Autosizable. In v5.0, if you want to use the Nominal capacity value calculated by the Autosize then the work around will be to run one simulation with the default values and then look at Summary tab> Report: Component Sizing...

Re: Solar - absorption cooling

Hi, I need to know if in Design Builder it's possible to design a solar cooling system with an absorption chiller. I understand that in v5 has been introduced absorption chillers, but it is possible to work with solar collectors? Another question, can you connect the absorption chiller in series wi...

Re: Electric Radiant Heating Panels

Is there an answer to this question yet? I'm modeling a warehouse and we're using Gas radiant heaters in our warehouses usually. What's the best way to model this and obtaining realistic energy consumption results? I think that the EnergyPlus high temperature radiant zone heater (ZoneHVAC:HighTempe...

Re: Error when using simulation Tab

Hi Mathieu,

Running the latest DesignBuilder version will not make any difference. It is a requirement that the heating comfort temperature should be lower than the cooling.

Hi guys,

The slider option has been removed from version 5. Negative gains can only be entered under Activity tab> Process .
