Ground Temperatures As Part of Location Templates

Postby Chua » Mon Nov 10, 2014 2:14 pm

Hi -- I'm trying to create a site template to make things easier for a class I am teaching. It seems that monthly ground temperatures cannot be applied to a location template. Its quite weird to begin with 14C ground temperatures in Singapore.

Is there any way to include this with a standard template so I don't end up with half the class having free cooling through the ground floor slab?

Thank you for your comments.

I think the easiest way will be to create a new project and without adding a building navigate to Site level and set the Ground Temperature data at Location tab>Site Details> Ground. Then save the dsb file and send it to the students to use it as starting template for their models.

Hope this helps,

Hi Luis,

Thank you -- I have ended up doing just that.

Dear Alstan,
I wish if you can share your experience calculating the soil temperature,
I'm searching for a calculation method for different soil types and different soil thicknesses around the Earth-Sheltered buildings,
Do you have any advice??
