HELP!!!! DESIGNBUILDER will not open on my machine!

Postby taylorch » Tue Apr 05, 2011 4:09 pm

so two weeks now I have tried just about everything I can think of and am getting nowhere.. I desperately need to get this working as I am way behind on my project.

I have a 2009 model mackbook pro, running windows 7 64 bit in bootcamp. I have an nvidia geforce 9600m gt graphics card

I download and install the program, seems to work fine but when I click to open, it goes through the loading phase and then nothing.. no error it wont even open

I have tried updating my graphics driver

I have tried every compatibility mode

nothing... I need some help!? anyone have any ideas?

Hi,

I would suggest to try to repair DesignBuilder installation by clicking on the Repair option available at Windows Control Panel.
If this does not fix the issue then you may need to try the following steps.

If the session was suddenly closed then it may have corrupted some of the software session files. So, clearing the user library Data folder to make the software create a fresh set of these files should fix this issue.

Please follow the steps below to clear the DesignBuilder library Data folder at the user local space.

1. If you haven't done so already, set your Folder Options so you can see hidden files, folders and drives:

- In Windows 7 and 8, from an Explorer window :
i) Organize -> Folder and Search Options
ii) Click the view tab
iii) Select "Show hidden files, folder and drives"
iv) Click Ok.

- In Windows 10, from an Explorer window:
i) Navigate to 'View'
ii) Select "Hidden items"

2. With DesignBuilder closed. Delete the Data folder at:
C:\Users\"YOUR_USERNAME"\AppData\Local\DesignBuilder\Data

3. Start DesignBuilder

Luis
