Tried to change the ASE value of daylighting, but it won't be set

Postby solon.yang » Tue Nov 13, 2018 7:18 am

I tried to change the ASE value to get the LEED daylighting credit score. I have a louver inside the window that can be controlled manually or automatically.
However, after trying to change the window shading setting under the opening tab, the ASE value has not been changed, what is the correct setting procedure?

Hi,

As described on the Program Help for version 6.0:
"If your building includes internal blinds then you should assess sDA including the impact of these blinds as described in Section 2.2.6 of IES LM 83 2012. DesignBuilder v6.0 is not able to include blinds in the Daysim analysis so you should alternatives tools in this case."

I hope this helps.

Hi

I've ended up with the same issue. Even tho I've read Important note 2 in help section I have no idea what alternatives tools should be used?
What does it mean? Like using component blocks in front of windows with scheduled transmittance?
We are trying to achieve LEED Option 1 credit, and ASE is way out of limit..

Thanks for any tip.
