Visible Absorptance no effect on Radiance Results or Export

Postby » Wed Nov 05, 2014 1:57 am

I'm having some issues trying to do some daylight modelling in terms of material light reflectance values.

The daylight modelling results don't have any discernible effect when I change the visible absorptance of the material. From the Radiance export files, it appears that the radiance reflectances shown there have little relation to the material and can vary widely depending on the Material I select in DesignBuilder - but have no impact at all when I adjust the visible absorptance value of the material. This is confirmed when I model a floor with 10% reflectance compared to 90% reflectance and no real changes result.

Can you clarify what DB is doing in terms of Radiance modelling of the various floors, walls & ceilings, and what might be causing this effect?

Hi all

After running a daylight calculation, the uniformity ratio is always equal to zero.
This is due to the Min Illuminance that is always zero.
