Creating a concave roof geometry

Postby john.richardson@ncl.ac.uk » Tue Sep 20, 2016 4:47 pm

Hi all
I am just wondering if anybody has any suggestions on how to create a concave, tent-like roof geometry which I need to create of an existing building (photos attached). I am using the dome command to then cut 3 half domes to replicate the three concave type patterns that shape the roof, but then the curvature of the roof becomes convex rather than concave. I just wondered if some modelling wizard with previous experience has an alternative method that is closer to the tent-like nature of the original building. My ongoing DB model also attached.
thanks a lot
M

Hi M!

Try to use boolean commands!

It's easier to work with outline blocks then convert them to building blocks:
