Postby 10mes44 » Mon Dec 10, 2018 12:33 pm

I am new to the software DESIGN BUILDER.

what to do for skylights.
how can we create skylights?

also , I have some doubts about ORIGIN IN DESIGN BUILDER

Are basement and ground floor automatically detected in design builder or we should use component blocks for them.....

and what are component blocks??

make it easy for me to understand . I am a beginner

Hi,

-> how can we create skylights?
These are placed as roof windows using the add window tool.

-> also , I have some doubts about ORIGIN IN DESIGN BUILDER
The 0,0,0 origin is the point where the lines for the main axis xyz intersect.

-> Are basement and ground floor automatically detected in design builder or we should use component blocks for them.....
Yes, the ground adjacency is automatically assigned for Z=<0. However, ground components blocks can be used to model the ground adjacency for Z>0. See Program help link below:

-> and what are component blocks??
Component blocks are drawn in the same way as Building blocks and there are 3 types - Standard, Ground and Adiabatic. See help link below for detailed information.
