Internal PCM walls/block

Postby alanmckee1986 » Thu Dec 13, 2018 10:26 pm

Hello, bit of a newbie to Design Builder

I'm trying to simulate the use of temporary covers/shutters made of PCM that can be positioned in front of windows or for further analysis against walls. Is something like this possible?

See image attached for typical positions that I would like to have the 'temporary' PCM.

I'm also struggling to create the different options in a combined summary, can I create multiple buildings (with different PCM options) in the same file?

Thank you very much

Alan

Hi Alan,

You may consider using Hanging partitions but these are modelled non-geometrically in EnergyPlus as Internal thermal mass.

Yes, you just need to be at Site level and press Add Building toolbar icon.
