SBEM does not permit the modelling of solar thermal sourced from PV. As the electricity generated by the PV is effectively subtracted from the electricity consumed in the building the final CO2 rate will be indicative of the whole output being used: though the individual service energies will not reflect the actual proportions of fossil fuels used for each. If hot water is otherwise supplied by a lower carbon fuel (eg gas) then the rating will be more optimistic. Please note if using sbem v5 (DB v4.2) you will almost certainly benefit from specifying using peak power rather than generic panel type.

PV-specify peak power

Postby innervision » Tue Sep 22, 2015 9:04 am

I am using DB version.

For PV input, "specify peak power" is greyed out. I can only use "collector aperture area" and " panel type".

Not sure why DB does not allow specifying "peak power"?
