Save HVAC Template dialog

The Save HVAC Template dialog allows you to name the HVAC template and provides a summary of the sub-systems that will included with the saved template.

When you press the OK button to save the template the HVAC data is stored in the template library.

Note: The whole HVAC system, as seen at HVAC system level, is saved and there is no way to selectively save particular parts of the system.

Loading custom HVAC templates

Any HVAC systems saved as a template will be available for subsequent loading using the Load HVAC Template dialog. The HVAC template library is global to the program and so any HVAC templates that you save will automatically be available in other projects on your machine.

To load your custom HVAC template:

  1. Go to the HVAC System level by click on the <HVAC System> item in the Navigator.

  2. Load the template by clicking the Load HVAC Template icon to launch the Load HVAC Template dialog.

  3. Select your custom template by clicking the ellipsis (...) to the right of the Detailed HVAC Template control and navigate to your template in the User folder.

  4. Select the zones to include in the first zone group of this template. See note below.

  5. Click the Finish button to load the system.

Note: When loading custom templates saved from more complex HVAC layouts with more than 1 zone group, only the first zone group in the system can be populated with zones from the Load HVAC Template dialog. However, you can easily assign zones to the other zone groups from the HVAC zone group dialog as required after the template has been loaded .

Exporting custom HVAC template(s)

You can export your HVAC template library in DDF form just like any other type of template or component. This is the most secure method to store your HVAC templates as the DDF file can be loaded to other machines and in future installations.
