Creating movies

 

When on the Visualisation or CFD screens you can create AVI movies of your model. To create a video file from a rendered view, click on the Generate AVI movie tool which opens the Movie options data dialog box:

 

 

Use the Type drop list to select either:

 

Tip: The 2-Shading for design day option works particularly well with the Sunpath diagram displayed

Click on the OK button to generate the movie. After the movie generation has completed, a file save dialogue will be displayed to allow you to save the movie file to any required location.

Note: smaller Shading time increments and Orbit increments can generate a lot of data and take a long time to complete movie generation, especially for large models when software antialiasing is switched on.

Viewing AVI Files

To view AVI files on Windows 10 machines we recommend using Windows Media Player for best results. Otherwise if you use the default Films and TV program that is usually associated with the .AVI extension you are likely to see an error message like the one below:



This error means that there are missing codecs on the default video player application.

Alternately you could use another video player that supports the .AVI extension.
