Single User Licences

A single user licence allows you to install DesignBuilder on a single computer. You can move the licence from one computer to the other freely. For example, if you need to use the software on a second computer you can deactivate the licence on the first one and activate on the second.

 

When you order a DesignBuilder single user license, you will receive an 8-digit activation code in an email. To use this to activate the software follow these steps:

 

  1. Download and install DesignBuilder (if you haven't already done so).

    1. For Simulation work, download from the main Downloads > Release Software menu option.

    2. For UK and Ireland Energy Assessors, download from the Downloads > UK Energy Assessors menu option.

  2. Run DesignBuilder.

  3. In DesignBuilder, open the License dialog which can be accessed from the top Help menu

  4. Press the License button
  5. On the "Select the licensing method" page, select the Activation Code option and press the Next button.
  6. Fill out your user details including your email address, name etc. and press the Next button.
  7. On the "Activation Code" page, enter the Activation code. The easiest way to do this is usually to open the email you received with the activation code, copy it so the text is on the clipboard and paste the code into the dialog.
  8. Ensure that you have an Internet connection.
  9. Then press the Next button.
  10. This will cause DesignBuilder to automatically download licences for all modules associated with the activation code and activate them. You will then be able to use the software and run functionality associated with each activated license. Press the Finish button.
