Soil tab on Ground Domain Dialog
On this tab you can select the Material defining the ground thermal properties and enter moisture content of the ground. The thermal properties of the material are used in calculation of the undisturbed ground temperatures as well as general heat conduction from building ground-adjacent surfaces connected to the ground domain object.
Select the material used to define the soil thermal properties.
Moisture and freezing effects are accounted for within EnergyPlus during the simulation by varying the specific heat value.
A nominal value of soil moisture content to be used when evaluating soil thermal properties.
A nominal value of soil moisture content when the soil is saturated, this is used in evaluating thermal properties of freezing soil.
